How does the cooling material work?

The cooling happens in the fabric itself. It's designed to pull heat away from your dog's body on contact and let it dissipate. There's no gel, no liquid, and nothing that needs to be activated.

How long does it stay cool?

It feels coolest when your dog first settles onto a fresh spot. As he lies there, the surface warms with his body heat and cools again once he moves or shifts. It's a passive cooling fabric, so we won't promise an exact number of minutes.

Does it need to be frozen or plugged in?

No. There's nothing to freeze, charge, plug in, or refill. You unroll it and it's ready.

Does it contain gel?
